ANSI B73.1 Standard Dimensions
ANSI Pump sizes are associated with a designation from "AA" to "A120." Each ANSI designation has a set of standard dimensions, which you can find in the chart below. ANSI designations are not unique for each pump size - for example, an ANSI designation of A70 can be associated with many other sizes with a 4" suction and 3" discharge, such as 3x4-7, 3x4-8, 3x4-8G, or 3x4-10.
ANSI pumps come in three pump lengths, and four pump size groupings:
- A small pump is 17.5" long (ST, STX, STi, or STO)
- Medium and large pumps are 23.5" long (MT, MTX, MTi, MTO) / (LT, LTX, LTi, LTO)
- Extra-large pumps are 33.875" long (XLT, XLTX, XLTi, XLTO)
The length dimension is the summation of the A and B dimensions in the table below.
